Ramps Are Like A War Zone
31st May 2017

I have been inundated with complaints about the dreadful condition of speed ramps on Boghall Road, Parnell Road, Davitt Road, and Dargle Road in Bray.

The ramp on Boghall Road outside the Ballywaltrim Community Centre is like something you would see in a war zone. Countless motorists have reported to me that there is a serious risk of an accident as they have to swerve in and out of the channels in the ramp to avoid losing control of their car. Many people have also said that their cars have been damaged because of the condition of the ramps. The same can be said of other locations in the town.

Councillors approved the expenditure of a significant amount of money to rebuild these ramps months ago and I am extremely disappointed that the work has not been done yet. I have recently asked yet again for this work to be done as a matter of urgency and I will continue to urge the Council Management to get the job done and restore some safety to these supposedly safe traffic calming locations.
